Reconnue comme « la récompense de photographie la plus éminente au monde » les Sony World Photography Awards reposent sur une compétition de renommée internationale en matière de photo. Organisé chaque année par la World Photography Organization (WPO), ce concours permet de découvrir les nouveaux talents du monde de la photo et leur offre la possibilité de se faire connaître. Des photographes de tous les âges et niveaux d’expérience sont ainsi invités à participer à cette compétition.
On distingue pour celà 4 concours bien distincts :
– Ouvert à tous – pour les amateurs et les passionnés. (« Open competition »)
– Professionnels – pour les photographes pros (« Professional competition »)
– Jeunes talents – ouvert aux moins de 19 ans. (« Youth award »)
– Etudiants – pour les étudiants en photographie ( « Student Focus »)

La liste des finalistes qui regroupe pas loin d’une centaine de photographes vient d’être dévoilée il y a quelques jours, avant l’annonce du vainqueur en avril. En attendant, voici une sélection de photos qui dégagent toutes quelque chose, une émotion particulière… et qu’à l’agence on trouve juste incroyable !
